Macy’s Santaland

Admission to Santaland is free, but picture packages with Santa range from $19.99 to $59.99. Bring your camera as well and enjoy the various photo opportunities throughout this decorated wonderland as you wait to meet the man with all the toys.

ABC Home & Carpet

Meeting Santa is free, but visitors will need to bring their own cameras for pictures.

Holiday Diversity in NYC

The holiday season is big in New York City, and while Christmas is the holiday you’ll see inspiring most of the decorations, it’s not the only one the city celebrates. From Hanukah to Kwanza and everything in between, NYC shows its diversity during the holiday season as every culture shows their spirit and gets into the most celebrated month of the year.

If you’re looking for Hanukah celebrations there’s no better place to be during the Festival of Lights than the Big Apple. Featuring the lighting of the world’s largest menorah and Chanukah on Ice, there are celebrations to be had all over the city. Various latke festivals offer creative takes on the holiday’s classic dish, and arts festivals share Jewish culture and heritage through arts and crafts. More contemporary celebrations take place at the various community centers in the city and allow for all eight nights of Hanukah to be celebrated in earnest.

Derived from the Swahili phrase matunda ya kwanza, meaning “first fruits of the harvest”, Kwanzaa is a week long celebration of African heritage and culture. Throughout New York this celebration comes to life through festivals and gatherings that not only commemorate but educate. Energize, Recognize! is a festival that celebrates through dance, theater, arts and crafts, food vendors, and special guests, while the Regeneration Night showcases dance and music in order to uplift spirits and get everyone in the holiday mood.

No matter what you celebrate, New York is the place to show your spirit. Take a look around and find the event that best suits your style, or challenge yourself to experience something new. This holiday season, get out and experience the joy that every holiday brings throughout the greatest city in the world.
