On August 24th ,the East Coast Modball Rally will kick off in New York City with a Tunnel Run  that starts at the Roosevelt Hotel and continues through Midtown, Brooklyn, Holland and Park Avenue. Registration begins at 2PM at the Roosevelt Hotel and the run will begin at 8PM. This event  is not exclusively for cars that are participating in the Modball Rally that travels down the East Coast, but open to all modified cars in the New York City area. After the tunnel run, all teams are welcome to the Mad 46 Rooftop Lounge to celebrate the start of the Modball Rally. 

Not sure what the Modball Rally even is?  It is described by one of its sponsors as “the most bonkers road trip around”. Teams from around the country assemble each year for a road rally that spans across many state borders. The term “modball” is given because it is said to be a modified ‘Gumball Rally’. The Modball Rally is known less for its actual race and more for the partying that ensues later each night. This years rally takes place from August 25th-29th and stops in  New York, Washington D.C., Virginia Beach, Atlanta, Orlando and finally Miami.

While most New Yorkers head to places like “The Jersey Shore” to beat the heat in July and August, this summer, “The Jersey Shore” came to us! That’s right, some of your favorite cast members from MTV’s hit TV show “Jersey Shore” were at mad46 filming an upcoming segment for MTV UK.

Jersey Shore cast members, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, and Vinny Guadagnino, spent the day filming at mad46, hanging out on the terrace and enjoying some summertime favorites, including hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches, at mad46. First, I would like to say THANK YOU to all of our followers out there who have been a part of our online communities over these past months. We have grown into such an amazing community and we consider all of you close friends of The Roosevelt Hotel.

We couldn’t be more gracious to have you be a part of who we are.

If you were to ask me one year ago today, how the developments of social networks like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube , etc would affect our business, I could never have imagined the success that we have had being a part of these communities.

From using these networks as a customer service tool, to the offering of exclusive deals/promotions at the hotel or even just to keep our followers in tune with what’s happening in our home city of NYC, our online communities have given us the ability to connect with you. Our guests. Our colleagues. Our friends. Nothing can replace the relationships that we have developed over this past year.

So, what is www.RooseveltConnect.com ? It’s simply a site that allows you to connect to all the areas of the hotel and all its outlets. Think of it as a “home” for all our social media connections.

Did you know that our rooftop lounge has its own Twitter account?  How about our street level bar? Oh, and the hotel has a fancy new iPhone app, did you know that? I know, I know. It’s a lot to keep up with. That’s what this site is for. To keep you connected to all of our communities. SUMMER TECH-TINI
2 oz Van Gogh Pineapple
½ oz Coconut Rum
½ oz Pineapple Juice

Shake vodka, Rum and Pineapple Juice together in an ice-filled shaker. Strain into an ice filled cocktail glass or served up in a martini glass.

CLASSIC TECH-TINI
1 1/2 oz vodka
3/4 oz dry vermouth

Shake vodka and vermouth together with several ice cubes in a shaker. Strain into a cocktail glass, garnish with olive and serve
