This Valentines Day we featured the delicous Romantic Cherry Blossom and we are back with another cherry delicious drink! This month, the Madison Club Lounge has been featuring another Cherry Heering Cocktail called the Blood and Sand!
BLOOD AND SAND
Ingredients
• 3/4 ounce Scotch
• 3/4 ounce Cherry Heering
• 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
• 1 ounce fresh orange juice
• Flamed orange zest for garnish
Method
Combine all the ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake until cold and then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Flame the orange zest over the top of the glass.
Alternately, build the cocktail in an ice-filled collins glass and top with another splash or orange juice before adding the garnish.

Here we are again in the month of February, and depending on your current ‘love status’ you either love, or loathe, this month. Some women can’t wait for Valentine’s Day, to be pampered with roses, champagne & chocolates, taken out for a night on the town by their date and maybe presented with a token of appreciation …maybe diamonds? But for the rest of us, it’s an excuse to go out with our girlfriends and celebrate being single, our independence if you will, over a few choice cocktails.
This year, the cocktail that I will be enjoying is a specialty drink from Cherry Heering. Not only is it a deliciously flavored Cherry Brandy, but it has been a fashion accessory since 1818, Adding extravagance and civilization to the mix of some of the most legendary cocktails of all time, including the original Singapore Sling. Heering, with it’s Ruby Red coloring and complex cherry flavor that is not overly sweet, is the perfect ingredient for a Valentine’s Day cocktail.
Here at the Madison Club Lounge , we are proud to feature “The Romantic Cherry Blossom” created by Mixologist Richard Broner. The Romantic Cherry Blossom is a romantic Champagne cocktail with Chandon, Cherry Heering and Rose Leaves served in a coupette instead of a traditional champagne glass to highlight the drink. Festive and delicious, this flirty and feminine libation is enough to leave you and your girlfriends saying, “Cupid Who?”
Stop by the Madison Club Lounge this Valentine’s Day and enjoy a Romantic Cherry Blossom. Every Cherry Blossom is served with a single Rose because, hey, who needs cupid when you have cocktails?!

Greetings from mad46!
We wanted to take this opportunity to THANK YOU all for making our second season at mad46 another great success! This year we further expanded the lounge with a new indoor space that was cool in the Summer months and warm and cozy in the Fall. This addition, along with the new retractable awnings that were installed, made it possible for mad46 to remain open even when it rained! This space also allows mad46 to continue to book private events and holiday parties throughout the winter months when we are not open for regular bar business. Please give us a call to schedule your event today!
The 2009 season brought back some of your favorite staff, specialty cocktails and promotions such as Tiki Tuesday and Mojito Mondays. We kicked off the season with our “First Saturday in May Kentucky Derby Party” where guests all came in their best Derby attire and cheered on their favorite racehorse while sipping Mint Juleps with friends. Book your reservations early for our 2010 Kentucky Derby Party as tables are sure to sell out fast! Additionally we addeda DJ on Saturday nights and Tuesday movie nights, where our guests could pull up a seat, enjoy a cocktail under the stars and watch some of their favorite movies right here on the rooftop! Look for these and other special events to return to mad46 for 2010!
Thanks again for making our second season at mad46 a success. Please visit our new web site http://mad46.com for the most up to date information for 2010 including our season opening, promotions and special events or follow us on Twitter @mad46 and Facebook.

We have been hearing quite the chatter about our non-traditional restroom signs at mad46 so we thought we would share them with everyone. Every so often we see the giggles and flashes of cameras because people get such a kick out of them. We won’t give it away, but once you get past the signs and in the restrooms, be sure to keep on eye out for some clever quotes on the back of the stalls.
We give props when props are due and these were all designed by the creative masterminds of The Merdian Group.
Click here for the full view of the signs. What do you think about these signs?
