New York City will be filled with sailors this weekend as the City’s annual Fleet Week sails into port. This yearly celebration of the men and women who dedicate their lives serving in our nation’s Navy Coast Guard, and Marines is awash with exciting nautical themed events and both educational and entertaining events to attend. Saturday, May 28

Take a tour of one of the magnificent vessels belonging to the world’s most powerful Navy. Tours are located at the following locations and will be open during the same hours for the entirety of Fleet Week:

-Pier 92S: HMCS Athabaskan (D 282), HMCS Kingston (MM 700), HMCS Moncton (MM 708)

Joint Aviation Event
1-2pm | Eisenhower Park
Military bands accompany the U.S. Navy Parachute Team’s aerial demonstration and a Marine helicopter landing featuring a CH-53 Sea Stallion and AH-1W Cobra during this exciting event in Eisenhower Park.
Fleet Week Regatta
1 – 5pm | Liberty Harbor, 11 Marin Blvd. Jersey City, NJ
Hosted by the Manhattan Yacht Club, the inaugural Fleet Week Regatta begins in the New York Harbor and cruises to a finish out at the Statue of Liberty.
Navy Band Concert
2-3pm | Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1, 102 Furman St. | Brooklyn, New York
Lose yourself in the patriotic sounds of the U.S Fleet Forces Brass Band and get in the spirit of Memorial Day. The Northeast Rhode Island Sound Navy Band will also be performing on Military Island at 4pm.

U.S Marine Corps Battle Colors Detachment

Honor the memory of those lost in the tragedy of 9/11 with the Marine Corps silent drill team and drum and bugle corps as they pay tribute to the memory of the lives lost and the heroes who gave their all.
Fleet Week at Liberty State Park

Delve into the waters of Fleet Week with this expansive event featuring a parachuting demonstration by the US Navy Parachute Team, “The Leap Frogs,” U.S. Navy and Marine Corps band performances, helicopter demonstrations, and much more.
Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum Block Party
1pm – 6pm | Pier 84, 555 12th Ave, New York, NY
Celebrate Fleet Week in true sailor fashion with live music, cold ice cream, Kona beer, and best of all, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum cocktails. Cage the Elephant will provide live music and “The Walking Dead” star Norman Rheedus will make an appearance on a custom Sailor Jerry Harley Davidson bike. Celebrate our past service members with a ceremony and military static displays accompanied by a free concert by American Legion Post #170.
Intrepid Memorial Day Commemoration
11:30am | Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum, 101 St. & 4th Ave. Brooklyn, New York
Show your appreciation for the men and women who gave their lives to protect our country. Join hundreds of veterans at this ceremony, featuring the unfurling of a 100-foot American flag, taps, ceremonial wreath-laying, and a three-volley rifle salute at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
Annual New York Mets/USO Military Appreciation Day
1:10pm | Citi Field, 123-01 Roosevelt Ave, New York, NY
Join the New York Mets as they host their annual Military Appreciation Day and take on the Chicago White Sox. Other events like the first pitch, a flyover, and a demonstration by the U.S Navy Parachute Team come together to guarantee an amazing game.
