Vintage Subway Ride

There’s so much to do in New York City during the holiday season but be sure to mark your calendar for one particular event; the annual “Nostalgia Shoppers’ Special Train” offered by the MTA.  Train enthusiasts, vintage lovers and children of all ages will love this historic ride on a classic antique subway train available for just a few weeks this time of year.  Complete with historical details like wicker seating and vintage subway ads, this ride is sure to be fun and educational.

Departures run roughly every hour and a half starting at 10AM on the 6 Avenue line between the Queens Plaza and 2 Av stations.  You can hop aboard at anyone of these stations as well but don’t expect to pay vintage pricing.  Costs are the same as regular subway fare ($2.25).
