Its football season and what would a Monday night be without having the big game on the TV with some food, drinks, and surrounded by your friends? Well that’s what I typically do every Monday night, in my “Man Cave” at home. But on Monday December 20th, I am switching it up a bit, and I am going to be here at The Roosevelt Hotel watching the Big Game with former New York Giant Sean Landeta!
Sean and I go way back to when he first arrived to Giants training camp in 1985 as the new punter for the team. Sean had just come off 3 successful seasons with the then USFL where he played for the Philadelphia Stars, and the Baltimore Stars. When we first met, I was just a young equipment manager, and he was a professional football player who eventually went onto to play for 20 seasons in the league.
Sean played for some great teams like the Giants where he won 2 championships. He went on to play for St Louis, Tampa Bay, Green Bay and finally in Philadelphia. In 2008 Sean officially retired from football, and he has remained close to the game by working with many of his old teams doing numerous appearances for charitable and autograph events. Additionally you can see Sean every Sunday night during football season on one of our local TV stations talking about the day’s football games.
Sean and I have remained close friends since those early days of training camp, and when I asked him if he would come to the hotel to hang out in the Madison Club Lounge during the Monday game, he gladly accepted. He promises to bring his two Championship rings to show off, he will sign some autographs, talk football, and share some fun locker room stories that most people never get to hear.
So if you are in the city on Monday December 20th, stop by the Madison Club Lounge in the Lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel, we have a great menu with plenty of football type food, and our 25 foot long bar has everything you could possibly want to drink during the game, and yes we will have a few TVs with the big game on!
Sean and I hope to see you there!
