This amazing collaboration between YouTube and the Guggenheim New York may not seem obvious, however, being one of the world’s most contemporary art museums, the Guggenheim has embraced the shift in visual expression and the innovation produced through digital media.

With YouTube Play, the Guggenheim exhibits entries of groundbreaking digital videos selected from thousands submissions, from all over the world. This global initiative celebrates those who are setting the bar in this rapidly advancing medium.

From October 22 to 24, 2010 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York you can see the top 25 videos from the YouTube playlist.

CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival

Here for its 30th year, CMJ Festival is about to hit the NYC streets once again. From October 19 – 23, 2010 CMJ features over 1,300 artists and 120,000 music at more than 75 venues throughout the city.

The CMJ Music Marathon connects music fans with all the best new music through interactive media and performances and has become famous for identifying artists such as U2, R.E.M., Nirvana, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Muse, White Stripes, The Killers, Justice, Lady Gaga, and more. If you want to be in the know about what’s going to be hot in 2011, you’ll want to pick up a badge for this festival.

And its not all about the music. For its 16th year, CMJ Network will also be hosting its CMJ Film Festival that showcases the most cutting edge films from independent to major motion pictures.

Chocolate Cupcake Martini

Mmmmm....

National Chocolate Cupcake Day is an unofficial holiday that’s celebrated on October 18th. In honor of this delicious treat, Vander Bar will be offering hald priced Chocolate Cupcake Martini!

The Chocolate Cupcake Martini
Ingredients:
1 ½ Oz of Frangelico
1 ½ oz of Vanilla Vodka
1/8 cup coco powder
1 ½ oz Crème de Cacao
Lemon Twist

Preparation:
Pour the Coco Powder on a flat plate. Wet the rim of the martini glass and dip into the Coco powder lining the rim of the glass.

In a cocktail shaker, combine Frangelico, Vanilla Vodka and Crème de Cacao over ice. Shake vigorously.

Strain the cocktail into the martini glass and add a twist of lemon.
