This will be an emotional Mothers Day for me. Not only because I’m still amazed every day by my first daughter, but because I am now pregnant with my second. Becoming a mother has been one of the most inspiring happenings in my life and I am so proud to be a part of the “mommy club”. I look forward to years of crayon colored cards, sloppy breakfasts in bed and construction paper flowers. Those are the times moms live for.
Raising a family in New York City is so perfectly ideal for special occasions such as Mother Day. Here are a few things that you can do this Sunday to celebrate the woman who has raised you and loved you since forever ago.
Cirque de Soliel
I can’t say enough good things about this show! If you haven’t seen it before, it’s an absolute must. Check out these great offers in honor of Mothers day! Click here to see the packages and to purchase tickets.
Brunch, Lunch, Dinner or Cocktails
Most of our mothers have waited on us hand and foot for most of our lives. Treat Mom to a nice meal, and do it at a discount (Mom would be proud!). Here is a complete list of Mothers Day Specials on OpenTable!
Ferry Ride Around Manhattan
If you are a New York native, then chances are you haven’t seen ALL the sites. My mother has lived in Brooklyn for over 50 years and has NEVER taken a ferry ride around Manhattan. This is what I’ll be doing with my Mom this weekend. See here for tour info!
Get Pampered
Mothers deserved to be pampered more than once a year, but on this special day, take mom to one of the top spas in this city. Check out this list of our favorite spas.
Shop, Shop and Shop
New York is looking at some beautiful weather this weekend. Perfect shopping weather! This city is the mecca for shopping. Here are the best shopping areas in the city for those “shopaholic” moms.
