I wasn’t sure what to expect as I strolled into work around 6am Christmas morning. As I made my morning rounds, checking on Starbucks, Room Service and the Roosevelt Grill, I headed back towards my office only to hear laughter and giggling coming from the Mezzanine hallway. I rounded the corner and was greeted by two beautiful little elves, running around in their Christmas PJ’s, enjoying the morning, smiling, laughing, eating their Cheerios and then off to run and play some more.
I stopped to take in the scene, say hello to the gang and Dad told me the kids were 10 months and 2 years old and that this was their second Christmas with us here at the Roosevelt. I returned to the scene a little while later and presented Roosevelt Teddy Bears to each of the boys. As they each turned to me and said “Thank you” and “Mewwy Cwistmas” I wonder who enjoyed it more, the boys with their eyes filled with joy and excitement, or me, who through the smiles on their faces and the laughter in their hearts, was able to remember exactly what this season is all about.
Hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday!
