By far one of the best outdoor activities to try during the winter season in NYC, ice-skating is fun for everyone and there are so many options of rinks and places to skate.

Ice Skating at Rockefeller Center

Ice skating at Rockefeller Center is a truly unique New York experience. One of the most popular places for tourists to skate, Rockefeller Center offers an intimate skating experience (only 150 skaters at a time) amidst a light filled urban setting. Enter from Fifth Avenue

The Pond at Bryant Park

Ice skating at Bryant Park is a fun, affordable way to enjoy winter in New York City. The 170′ x 100′ rink features free admission ice skating, in addition to high quality rental skates, skating shows, special events, and activities. The Pond is located at Bryant Park between 40th & 42nd Streets and Fifth & Sixth Avenues. The Skating Pavilion entrance is located on the 40th Street side of the park.

Wollman Rink in Central Park

Wollman Rink is another popular skating choice and is apt to be crowded during peak times (especially weekends). Access to the rink for the full day is $10.25 ($5 children) during the week and $14.75 weekends ($5.75 children). Ice skate rentals are $6.25. Wollman Rink is located off Central Park East between 62nd and 63rd Streets.
