IH/M&RS 2009

It is always exciting when the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) is back in New York City. With over 1, 000 exhibitors at the Jacob J. Javits Center, professionals from the hospitality industry get to check out the newest products and technologies in the biz.

This year, The Roosevelt Hotel is proud to be a part of the Hospitality Leadership Forum on November 7th. This forum is part of the IH/M&RS and gives the attendees a chance to hear about some of the new trends, developments and visions that will shape the future of the industry.

This is an exciting week here in New York City as we kicked off The New York Comedy Festival last night, November 4th and taking place through November 8th. Within just steps from The Roosevelt Hotel, everyone can enjoy all the funniest shows New York has to offer. It’s just one of the many fantastic things that go on in this great city!

Yankees fans are walking proud today as the Bronx Bombers won victoriously over the Phillies last night in Game 6 of the 2009 World Series.

New York City will host a ticker-tape parade and ceremony in honor of the World Series champion New York Yankees tomorrow, Friday November 5th.

The parade will begin on Broadway at Battery Place at 11 a.m. and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall Plaza where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the keys to the city. Bloomberg promises it to be the largest-ever parade.

For the third year in a row, The Roosevelt Hotel New York had the largest participation in the 18th Annual Hotel Industry Walkathon for Charity hosted by the Hotel Association of New York City & New York Hotel-Motel Trades Council on October 4th, 2009.

With 146 participants, the hotel associates brought home the trophy and proudly raised funds benefiting Sanctuary for Families. Thank you to everyone who supported in this event and we look forward to another success in 2010.
