Set in our very own city, Mad Men has become a favorite amongst some of us at The Roosevelt Hotel. Don Draper even filmed a scene here not to long ago!
So we thought, why not throw a little party in honor of its season premiere this Sunday (August 16th) at The Madison Club Lounge!
“SUITS AND SKIRTS PARTY”
Have fun with it and dress in your snappiest 1960’s garb, order a Sloe Gin Fizz and watch the premiere (that we’ve ALL been waiting for) of MADMEN this SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th at The Madison Club Lounge.
From 9:30-11:30pm, taste cocktails from the era provided by Dewars and enjoy drink specials from the bar all night.

The Roosevelt Hotel Fitness Center
One of the hardest things to do is to stay on a healthy diet during vacations and travels. It’s easy to throw all your good eating habits out the window when it’s vacation time because you think “Hey,I deserve it!” While that might be true, you still don’t want to come back after a week or two with those extra pounds as souvenirs!
Here are a few quick tips on how to eat right and stay fit while your traveling.
Drink in Moderation. I know. This might be a toughy. But “adult beverages” normally rack up the calories. Just think, a strawberry daiquiri contains around 250 calories. Two or three of those and it’s a meal! Try drinking a light beer or check out this guide to alcoholic beverages and their calorie count.
Plan Ahead. When you first arrive at a hotel or resort, try to find a local market and stack up on “good for you” treats like fruits and granola. Most hotels have refrigerators available so that you can store your snacks. This way, your not tempted to go for the $10 M&M’s!
Make a schedule and stay active. You’re on vacation, so get out there and stay busy. Take a few days in advance of your trip to look at activities in your area. By contacting the concierge at your hotel, you can really get things in motion by making reservations and filling up your days with fun things to do.
Take advantage of the Fitness Center. Almost all hotels have a fitness center. It may be the last thing you’re thinking about doing on your vacation, but hop on the treadmill first thing in the morning for a quick while and get your blood flowing. If you’ve listened to tip #3, you’ve got a busy day, so get moving!
An evening with the stars, under the stars. That’s what you get with mad46’s new Rooftop Film Series. Debuting on August 3rd with “The Godfather”, (the original of course) mad46 will be playing a variety of movies throughout the season. Next up will be Sophia Coppola’s “Lost in Translation” on August 18th and then, every girl’s favorite, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” on September 1st.
Each of these Tuesday nights, mad46 will also be featuring a special drink promotion to tie in with the movie. Rumor has it, there may be a diamond give away for the September flick.
