One of the great things about New York City in the summer is the outstanding line up of music it offers throughout the season. This week commemorates the 400th anniversary of the voyage made by Henry Hudson to New Amsterdam (what we now know as New York). To honor this event, this weekend will be full of fun events (and amazing photo ops) in and around Battery Park.
Starting on the evening of June 5th at 6:00pn, there will be a Blessing of the Fleet by Governor Paterson and special guests, followed by a sight rarely seen on this urban island of ours. One of my favorite museums in New York is the American Museum of Natural History. Every time I walk up the immense staircase and through the doors, it reminds me of my younger days when my father would bring my siblings and I there. We would spend an entire day walking through the exhibits and it seemed as if my father knew everything there was to know about, well, everything! After a long day, we would stop by the hot dog vendor, grab a bite to eat and then sit at Central Park and try to grasp all of the amazing things we just saw. Those were great times!
